So, we’ve shown you how to create your CV – but how does it compare to others?

We’re going to allow you to step into the shoes of a recruiter to look over, analyse and score some CVs. You’ll use the matrix we introduced you to in the previous lesson to score the CVs against the indicators.

The context

The role these three CVs are applying for is a Business Development Executive for a sports nutrition brand – you can find the job specification attached as a PDF at the bottom of the page as the attachment is named “Business Development Executive role” or access it here: Business Development Executive role.

The CVs

Three candidates have applied for this role, and I’d like you to take a look at their applications! You can find all three submitted CVs here: Candidates CVs. You can also find these at the bottom of the lesson as the attachment named “Candidate CVs”.

Time to score!

If you think back to the earlier module about applications, you’ll hopefully remember the scoring matrix we used which you can a link to here: Scoring Matrix. You’ll be using this to score the CVs. There’s a copy below – take a look at the matrix and choose your score for each CV! Technically in this scenario, there is no right or wrong, as scores can be somewhat objective (what someone considers a 1 might be a 2 in somebody else’s eyes), but to make it easier I’ve given you my opinion of what score each CV should be given (and I’ve been doing this kind of stuff for years)

Don’t share your answers in the Comments here – we’ll be using a Quiz step next to get your thoughts, so save them until then.
