Emotional Issues in Old Age

Anxiety disorders are a common issue among the elderly, encompassing generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, hoarding disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and paranoid behaviors.

Another prevalent issue is delirium, which is an acute symptom that represents a “physiological abnormality” rather than a mental illness. Common symptoms include confusion about people, time, or place, as well as difficulty concentrating.
