Prof. Tariq is currently an Assocaite Dean (continuing Education) at the Faculty of Dentistry, UM (2022-2024); Executive Editor of Annals of Dent UM – the official journal of the Faculty of Dentistry University of Malaya (2018-Present); Associate Editor of Biological Trace Element Research (IF 4.081, 2021); and the founding President of the Malaysian Society for Oral Microbiologists and Oral Immunologists (MySOMOI, 2018-2020). |
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tariqur Rahman completed B.Sc. (1993) and M.Sc. (1995) in Microbiology from the University of Dhaka (Bangladesh); M.Sc. (1998) and Ph.D. (2001) in Biochemistry from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). He worked at the University of Fukui (Japan) as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) researcher in the field of Neuroscience (2004-2005).
He started his academic career in Biotechnology Discipline, Khulna University (1996-2003) and later served as the Founding Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy at East West University, Dhaka (2004). He also worked as a faculty member at International Islamic University Malaysia (2005-2015). Since July 2015, Prof. Tariq is attached with the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya.
