Meet your tutors

Here are your tutors who will guide you through your learning. We will take a mentoring role and will be engaging with your discussions both in article and discussion steps. Whilst not able to comment on every post, we will make sure we guide and inform through our input.

Dr Manu-Priya Sharma is a consultant anaesthetist at University College London Hospitals (UCLH). She has been leading the development and the delivery of this course. It is important to her that the course reflects the inclusive, diverse, global and multi-professional nature of healthcare.

• Dr Manu-Priya Sharma is currently one of four sustainability leads in the department of anaesthesia at UCLH . She is also an educational supervisor for environmental sustainability fellows in anaesthesia and has led on various projects including the introduction of the Mobile Destruction Unit (MDU) in maternity care and the introduction of inhaled anaesthetic capture devices at UCLH. In 2023 Dr Manu-Priya Sharma and her colleagues of the Anaesthesia Climate Emergency (ACE) Team won a Celebrating Excellence Award for their work on sustainability.

Dr Evelina Russell is an anaesthetics trainee in London and has been instrumental in developing and delivering this course. She has a keen interest in environmental sustainability in healthcare, and when not at work, can be found at her allotment in East London growing fruit and vegetables organically, and managing waste sustainably with re-using, recycling and composting.
