Summary of week 1
In week 1, we have looked at climate change and our planet, our nations and us.

We have learnt some important definitions and seen through the work of the Lancet Countdown Committee the impact that the climate crisis in having on our health, our populations health and world health.

We have also explored how nations, healthcare, and individuals contribution to global warming and looked at ways in which we need to manage and adapt to the changing world around us.

We concluded week 1 with some case scenarios and news articles. We hope you have enjoyed learning with us in week 1, and that the week has sparked much discussion and debate.


In week 2 we will look at how nations, healthcare, industry and individuals are mitigating the effects of the climate crisis.

We will look at the topics of waste and procurement in more details and learn how to be ‘procurement smart’. Together we will explore some of the myths and legends and delve into why plastic recycling is not working, learn about greenwashing and discuss whether we can and should work with industry!

We look forward to seeing you in week 2.
