If you have a firm idea of the kind of industry you want to work in, you can start looking at the skills and programming languages.
You have now seen a range of different industries and had a look at some local jobs to see what kind of roles are available in your area. You also had a chance to see what roles your fellow learners have found in their areas.

Take some time to think about the following questions:
  • Which industries appeal to you?
  • Are there any industries that stand out as the sort of place you would want to work?
  • Are there any you might want to avoid?
If you have a firm idea of the kind of industry you want to work in, you can start looking at the skills, programming languages, and any special skills or tools which they might require.

List

  • Make a list of the skills, languages and skills you might need.
  • Begin thinking about how you could provide evidence of those skills in a job application.
