measure words

There must be a measure word between the number and the noun in Chinese. For different nouns you should use different measure words.

口kǒu is a measure word for family members 我家有四口人。Wǒ jiā yǒu sì kǒu rén。

When 人 refers to other people, we can use 个before it, like

三个人sān gè rén

我有两个妹妹。Wǒ yǒu liǎng ge mèimei 。

他有三个中国朋友。Tā yǒu sān ge Zhōngguó péngyou 。
