Today we are going to learn how to say the things you want to do and the things you don’t want to do in Chinese, first let’s learn the new words.

New words

旅游 lǚyóu v. to travel, to take a trip

觉得 juéde v. to think, to feel

最 zuì adv. Most, to the greatest extent

最好 zuìhǎo,the best

最大 zuìdà,the biggest

为什么 wèi shénme why

也 yě adv. also, too

Language points

要 yào, v. to want, to want to do something. 要 can be used before a verb to indicate the desire to do something.

大卫要学习汉语。Wánɡ Fānɡ yào xuéxí hànyǔ 。

我要吃米饭。Wǒ yào chī mǐfàn。

If you want to use 要 in a question, you can either add 吗 at the end of the sentence or use 要不要。For example:

我们要不要买几个新椅子?Wǒmen yào bu yào mǎi jǐ ɡè xīn yǐzi ?

The negative form is usually 不想。For example:

我不想吃米饭。Wǒ bù xiǎnɡ chī mǐfàn。
