How to use 下来 as the complement of direction

“下来” used after certain adjectives or verbs, indicating a certain state begins to appear and continues to develop. For example:

老师一走进教室，教室里就安静下来了。

我真希望时间能慢下来，不要过得那么快。

我们早点儿回家吧，天就要黑下来了。

“上去”indicates an estimation or evaluation of a certain aspect, such as 看上去 seem

“起来”indicates the act of recalling has reached a result, such as 想起来 recall

and it can also indicate the recognition of something implicit, such as 认出来 recognise

“下来”indicates a certain state begins to appear and continues to develop, such as 安静下来 become quiet
