Introduction to Key Concepts

In IdAM, there are three key concepts that you should know about. These are identification, authentication, and authorization.

In this week and the next, we will look at practical ways of addressing each of those three concepts. We will also look at best practices from third-party sources, and some of the documentation that we can reference and use as a basis for our own identity and access management standards.

Let’s start with the first key concept, ‘identification’.
