Unravelling UTI through the MDT: Part 1

In the final case study, you will learn about the patient history in this case of UTI, and consider how an MDT may have been able to help.

Our final case on the AMS MDT ward round is presented in the video above, a case of a 56-year-old male presenting with a history of three months of lower urinary symptoms.

You will think through different aspects of the case, such as:

  • The challenges of treating resistant UTIs
  • How clinical investigations help diagnosis
  • How the expertise of members of the MDT can highlight possible causes of the UTI.

Work through the video, making sure to pause when advised so you can take time to think and write down your answers.

When you are finished make sure to discuss your answers with other learners in the comments below!
