The week ahead

This section introduces Week 4.

In Week 3, we explored good practice in SEND support through hearing from students on the BA Learning and Teaching with SEND programme, discussing their practice and focusing in on the lives and experiences of Holly and Akia.

We also focused on the ways in which the physical environment, both at home and in educational settings, can be adapted for SEND needs.

In this final week of this course, you will:

  • discover further information and support provided by a range of SEND organisations and providers,
  • reflect on and evaluate these sources of support for the individuals in our four case studies,
  • reflect on and evaluate these sources of support for different individuals, contexts and communities, including your own.

This will enable you to connect with other people interested in SEND and with SEND professionals who are relevant to you.

Finally, you will be able to develop actions and identify sources of support and further learning opportunities relating to working in SEND as a career. You will also be able to apply your learning from this course to support decision-making around further study.
