Activity Overview

Explore technology-assisted decision-making. Learn to optimize outcomes with advanced algorithms and techniques in different industries.
Two students working together on a computer to solve a problem.

Is there a quick and efficient method for solving the kinds of decision-making problems we looked at earlier?

There is! Activity will introduce graph theory and how we are able to use it.

Then we’ll explore graph theory in decision-making further by looking at Kruskal’s algorithm. An algorithm is a procedure which, given an input, produces an output. Kruskal’s algorithm is one approach to solving the problem that GigaFibre is having.

Learning objectives

By the end of this Activity, you will able be able to:

  • Model a specific decision-making problem as a graph theory problem.
  • Apply a simple procedure to solve a decision-making problem, using Kruskal’s algorithm.
