A wide range of primary sources relating to this period of Irish history are now available online. There are also a huge number of web pages offering interesting discussions and insights into various topics raised throughout this course. We recommend some of these sources and web pages in the list below.
We understand that this list is extensive and that realistically it is unlikely that you will have the time to browse through all the resources, but we hope that this will present you with a springboard to delve further into era and provide you with the tools to develop a fuller picture of whatever facet of the period interests you most.
Each week the course will draw on some of the online primary sources to show you the diversity of material available to you. We will direct you to specific sources in the early weeks of the course, but, as we progress through the course, you will be encouraged to browse more freely in the material online and to bring back your own researches to course discussions and debates.
So, take your time to dip into this comprehensive list of resources whenever you feel like increasing your knowledge of the period.
