Draft Agreement Update -1-

Moving to action on the agreement at COP26

Moving to Action at COP26

‘Moving to Action’ today at CO26, the UK Presidency released the draft agreement text(s).

Dave Gorman, Director of Social Responsibility and Sustainability at the University of Edinburgh and COP26 Observer, tweeted @DaveGormanUoE :

‘immediate reactions to the text were numerous. I’m told extraordinarily that this is the first time that ending fossil fuels or using nature based solutions as a key contributor to ending climate change have been mentioned in UNFCCC text. Naturally, financing is going to be key – and rightly so given that climate change is a fairness and justice issue’.
‘Just as I was leaving the conference for the day, news came through of a surprising but exciting development, new joint working between the US and China. Not even those normally in the know seem to have been expecting this!’
