This course is taught by an international team from the consortium of the EMBED project European Maturity model for Blended Education.

This strategic partnership is about innovation in higher education specifically around blended education. The partnership consists of frontrunner European universities in blended education and benefits from full expert representation. Meet the team here!

Team member Bio
EMBED Yi-Shan Tsai is a research associate at the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, with an affiliation to the Centre for Research in Digital Education. Her research focuses on sense-making of multi-modal texts, learning analytics-based feedback, and institutional adoption of learning analytics.
EMBED Dragan Gašević is Professor of Learning Analytics in the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University. Before the current post, he was Professor and Chair in Learning Analytics and Informatics in the Moray House School of Education and the School of Informatics and Co-Director of Centre for Research in Digital Education at the University of Edinburgh.
EMBED Jeff Haywood is Emeritus Professor of Education & Technology in the Moray House School of Education at the University of Edinburgh. His research interests are in the development of strategies for effective use of ICT in education at institutional, national and international levels, with a particular emphasis on understanding learner experiences.
EMBED Ana Hibert is a PhD student at the Moray House School of Education at the University of Edinburgh. Her research focuses on automated feedback for second language learners.
EMBED Stephan Poelmans is a professor in Information Management at the KU Leuven. His research interests include the usability and deployment of blended and e-learning systems in the field of software engineering, as well as software modeling. Stephan is a member of the LIRIS research (campus Brussels), and teaches courses in data management, data mining and software engineering.
EMBED Veerle Van Rompaey holds a PhD in Social sciences and works as a researcher at the KU Leuven. Her research interests include co-design, user-experience design and Human-technology interaction.
EMBED Katie Goeman holds a PhD in Social Sciences and works as an assistant professor at the KU Leuven. She investigates design and implementation issues regarding blended learning, and monitoring of ICTs in formal education or training.
EMBED Pavani Vemuri is a PhD student in the LIRIS research group at the KU Leuven with research interests in blended learning and adaptive blending learning environments that facilitate personalised learning.
EMBED Wiebe Dijkstra is a learning developer and trainer on Blended Learning at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He is an expert in designing, developing and implementing blended learning courses in Higher Education. In the last couple of years, he helped dozens of course teams with their blended courses.
EMBED Beatriz de los Arcos is a learning developer for open, online and blended education at Delft University of Technology. She holds a PhD in Educational Technology.
EMBED Teija Lehto holds a MA in languages and a BSc in computing science. She works as a senior adviser in digital education at Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK). She maintains digma.fi LMS, and develops EXAM examination system.
EMBED Christian Dalsgaard is Associate Professor at the Centre for Teaching Development and Digital Media, Aarhus University, Denmark. His research area is online education.
EMBED Mark Brown is Ireland’s first Chair in Digital Learning and Director of the National Institute for Digital Learning (NIDL), Dublin City University. He has over 30-years experience of working in Higher Education and has played key leadership roles in the development, implementation and evaluation of several major university-wide digital learning and teaching initiatives.
EMBED Mairéad Nic Giolla Mhichíl is currently an Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow, with the National Institute of Digital Learning in Dublin City University, researching Massive Open Online Courses and implementing the University’s Strategic Initiative in this area.
EMBED Clare Gormley is an academic developer with DCU Teaching Enhancement Unit who has worked in the arena of technology-enhanced learning (in both academic and corporate contexts) since 1996. A Fellow of the Staff and Educational Development Association (FSEDA), Clare has a particular interest in supporting the professional development of academic staff for enhanced learning and teaching.
EMBED Alessandra Antonaci is Programme Manager at EADTU and skilled in blended and flipped approaches. She also has lots of experience with MOOCs development and tutoring.
