What is social bonds?

The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) defines a social bond as any type of bond instrument where the proceeds, or an equivalent amount, are exclusively allocated to finance or refinance, either partially or fully, new and/or existing eligible Social Projects. These projects are aligned with the four core components of the SBP. The social bond market emphasizes transparency, disclosure, and the promotion of integrity.
