In the first half of this week we explored the role of social media in promoting development in Uganda. In the next Steps we will focus on examples of how organisations in the UK and USA are using social media to support their work.

The first example is Greenpeace who are renowned for their online activism. They achieve change by investigating, documenting and exposing the causes of environmental destruction. Their strategies for bringing about change include lobbying, consumer pressure and mobilising members of the public.
