Practicing sustainable healthcare

Can healthcare be part of the solution?
Recent data indicates that the health sector is a major contributor to climate change. In the European Union, for example, the health system produces 5 per cent of the EU’s CO2 emissions. It also produces vast amounts of waste, much of it toxic.

The two videos below show how reducing carbon emissions in the health sector can reduce the severity of climate change. They also describe how a ‘de-carbonising’ society can reduce non-communicable lifestyle-related diseases.
