Learn more about your study group task for Week 3.

This week is all about improving your work and study performance. In your study group this week, you’re going to share your experiences with improving focus, reducing procrastination and managing your emotions. You will then create a list showcasing your top tips on improving work and study performance that can be shared with the other learners.

What you need to do

  1. As a group, decide who will be your reporter for this week’s task. Their job is to share with other learners the work you’ve produced as a group. Consider having more than one reporter in your study group. This helps to share the workload if it gets busy later in the week.
  2. By yourself, make your way through the week. Read the articles, play the videos, do the meditations and engage with other learners. Take some time to complete the multitasking experiment.
  3. From Wednesday 22 February, discuss with your group your experiences with distraction and procrastination, and how you used mindfulness to stay focused on the tasks you needed to complete. When do you get distracted? What do you do to help you focus your attention? How do you procrastinate? What does it take to get started and stay on track?
  4. As a group, create an agreed list of the group’s favourite ways of using mindfulness to deal with distraction and procrastination.
  5. If you’re the reporter, share the list with other learners in the Comments of the Feedback from Craig and Richard for Week 3 step by Sunday 26 February.

We’d love for the work you produce as a study group to meet the 1200 character limit of the comments, but if you find that you’re working on a longer piece of writing with your study group or just need a place to workshop your ideas, consider using temporary text hosting tools like Pastie or NoteHub. Find out more about using Temporary text hosting.

At the end of this week, learners who have joined a study group will share the work they’ve produced for this week’s study group task. Once they have, be sure to provide your own constructive feedback and commentary.

If you missed this week’s group task, or are catching up with the course – you’re not alone – be sure to provide your own constructive feedback and commentary.
