Nature Publishing Company has produced an excellent animated 3D video showing the normal immune response in the skin and how it goes wrong in psoriasis. You will recognize much of what you’ve learned in Mini Medical School, including such innate immune terms as “PAMPs” and “DAMPs.” You’ll note that helper T cells are also referred to as “CD4 T cells” after a molecule that can be observed on their exterior; and CTL are also called “CD8 T cells.” Towards the end, they refer to yet another class of helper T cell, the very-aggressive Th17 cell, which is similar to the Th1 cell.

This is an additional video, hosted on YouTube.

What a fascinating video! Discuss with your fellow learners how the 3D animation helps to better understand the immune response in our skin!
