Welcome to our course!

I am Prof. Yue-Hwa Chen. The other educators of this course are:

We are all from the College of Nutrition, Taipei Medical University, with expertise in various aspects of nutrition and food science.

On this course, you will learn the roles of nutrition among various health problems or diseases, such as cancer, metabolic syndrome, or anemia. You will learn the theory and relationship between these disease and nutritional choices. We will discuss how to choose foods wisely to improve your health conditions.

The first week will be taught by me. I will talk about some of the practical issues happening in real life and we will also explore diet and cancer. Then we will suggest some solutions to answer these problems. Then, in Week 2, you will meet Prof. Yeh who will explore metabolic syndrome and dietary recommendations. Once you’ve completed Week 2, you’ll meet Prof. Chang, who will explore anemia and diet with you. In the final week of the course, you will meet Prof. Hsieh, who will discuss topics around energy homeostasis and body weight.
