本節影片中,黃教授會解釋功能性食品。功能性食品定義上,所含營養經過消化吸收後是對人體具有功能性的。按照不同製作方法,功能食品可以分為第一代、第二代、第三代。簡單來說,原始狀態的食品是第一代。如果將功能食品製成膠囊、膠囊或食品添加劑,則為第二代。如果把不同的食物來源,但食物成分相近的食物放在一起,我們稱之為第三代功能食品。

接著,黃教授介紹了健康食品流行的原因很多,例如:高齡化社會、政府的支持等等,民眾對功能性食品的需求漸漸提升。
