Once you have been through the visualisation exercise, you are ready to pick up your values checklist. This exercise is here to outline the words that resonate and ring true for you.

Make sure you keep in mind that a value is something that brings you joy and satisfaction, and is something that’s extremely important to you. E.g. Connection, freedom and choice, or learning and growth.

When we are living a life that is honouring our values, we feel a real sense of fulfilment and ‘rightness’ in our lives – all feels ‘well’.

Conversely, when we are not living according to our values, ignoring them, or doing the opposite in some cases, then we feel things are ‘not right’ – there’s an inner sense of ‘disharmony’ aka ‘dissonance’.

When this goes on for a long time, or we dishonour our values to the extreme, this can lead to anxiety, depression, anger and all sorts of physical illnesses.

Dishonouring our values in the long term or to the extreme results anxiety, depression, anger and physical illnesses. So, using the values checklist, circle the top ten values that presented themselves in your vision.

You can then ask yourself:

How many of these values are you currently honouring? How many are you dishonouring?

Discuss in the comments your experience of this. Share with us below.
