Honouring and dishonouring your values

Watch Sue Belton explain the impact of honouring and dishonouring your values.

In this video your chapter expert, Sue Belton, explains the impact of honouring and dishonouring our values.

When we are honouring our values, when we are living a life that honours our values, we have an internal sense of rightness. All feels well, all feels right and there is no sense of anxiety or stress.

Conversely, when we are living a life, as we often are up until this point, dishonouring our values in our career, we have an internal sense of ‘not rightness,’ things aren’t quite right and we don’t know why. This is known as dissonance. The feeling of something not being right.

When we live like this for years, sometimes to extremes, this dissonance can cause anxiety, depression, and even physical illness.
