Student interview after class

Student interview after class
Hi, David, how was the semester? You have finished the online course of Research Method, what do you think about it? The semester was very good. It was pretty hard, but I work my way through it. Great. As for the course, I always thought that having more professors to teach one course can broaden our horizons. And I think this class has proved it. Now it is easier for me to draw distinction between the different kinds of research methods and it is also easier for me to read academic articles. All in all the course has definitely met my expectations. It’s very great to know that. I’m very happy that you learn something and you get some ideas from this course.
Which part do you like the most in this subject? Professor QU Hailin, he had a lecture on the utilization of new technologies in tourism research and I found it very interesting. For instance, there are applications of neuro marketing studies. It is very fascinating how new technology shapes our industry and even research. I was always fascinated by technology, so this was the one I like the most. Good. What professor Qu talked about is actually the frontier and also the emerging issues in our field. After this class, do you still have any questions? During this course, we had the opportunity to get a general understanding of the differences of research methods.
I was wondering, are you going to open classes focusing on these research methods separately? You mean, are we going to have a class for a particular method in depth? Right? That’s correct. It’s actually a very good question. As what I mentioned in the beginning of the subject, this class is only an introduction to the research method. So, it’s only one part for a series of research method. In the coming semesters, we will launch the advanced research method for students who want to get ideas, who want to get more in-depth knowledge of a particular methods. And also we will teach you more technical skills about data analysis for certain methods.
Hope to see you if you can also join us for the advanced research method. Thank you. Do you have any future plans? Or have you gained any knowledge from this course that can be utilized for your future studies? After graduation, I would like to work either in tourism industry or consulting industry. Good. And I think this course was very helpful, even for my future plans. Because now I have a solid foundation of critical thinking. I know how to analyze data. And I think this course also helps me with the knowledge of how to write reports.
I believe that this course is very helpful not only for those people who want to work in academia in the future after graduation, but also for those people who want to work in an industry. Yes, it’s also one of the objective for this course. We hope that the research method is not only useful for students who want to step into the academic field, but also for students who are doing consultancy practical works in the field. Thank you, David, wish you a smooth journey for graduation. Thank you again for having you for the whole semester. And I hope that I can see you for the next course, the advanced research methods. Thank you very much, Dr. Liu.
