Enabling global innovation with confidence using Security by Design

As organisations embrace new technological innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to modernise their business operations, the chances of introducing new vulnerabilities to their systems increases, thereby exposing the systems to increased risk of cyber attacks.

Meanwhile, governments, wanting to service their populace better, use modern interconnected applications that are run and managed online. This increases the security risks that may have major impact of societal scale, and may facilitate a loss of trust in the organisations managing these online products and services. As organisations become privy to the benefits of AI which could lead to a greater transformation of their business operations, the machine learning algorithms that support it (AI) could become a prime target of harm and could affect the integrity of outcomes. The predictive models that are designed to continually learn and improve using data gathered during machine learning applications may start to function incorrectly, increasing the risks to users of AI.

This means that having a proactive, pragmatic, and strategic approach to security from the onset of the design and development of such applications is essential. Security by Design assists organisations to enhance their risk capacity required to create transformative innovation with confidence and the users’ trust.
