The Check In, ‘Thinking Of You’

AllBright. Sisterhood Works. Everyday you. Watch Susan McPherson, CEO Mcpherson Strategies, invite you into a new daily habit, the check-in.

Remember Susan’s story of when she watched her parent’s make cuttings and send them to their friends and professional network? Susan’s invitation here is for you to do the same, only a slightly modernised version. Pick four to five people from your network that you would like to reconnect with, then send them a ‘thinking of you’ text message, email or Instagram DM.

Pace yourself, give two weeks to get in touch with each individual and take your time to consider what it is you wish to reach out with. This message will be free of any agenda or expectation, and will act simply as a feeling of your thoughts being with them, with the focus on them, not you. This challenge will allow you to integrate your learning for this chapter. Harnessing the energy of ‘what can I give?’ in simple daily checking in messages will normalise this more meaningful way of connecting to the women in your network.
