CTS Case: water leakage monitoring technology

CTS Case: water leakage monitoring technology

So, imagine there’s a company that’s really good at finding leaks in water pipes. You know how sometimes water pipes underground can start leaking, and it’s super hard to figure out where the leak is?

Well, traditionally, experts would have to walk around with special equipment and literally listen for the sound of water leaking to find the problem. It’s kind of like trying to find a needle in a haystack by listening for it!

The New Technology:

But this company has come up with a much cooler and smarter way to do it. Instead of relying on just the experts’ ears, they use a combination of smartphones, IoT (which is just a fancy way of saying “smart gadgets that can connect to the internet”), and AI (artificial intelligence).

Here’s how it works: KO-UPㅣWI.Plat

Data Collection:

Instead of needing experts, now anyone with a simple device can go around and record the sounds from the pipes using their smartphone and some small IoT gadgets.

AI Analysis:

These sound recordings get sent up to a cloud server (basically, a powerful computer on the internet), where AI listens to the recordings. The AI is trained to recognize the specific sounds that indicate a leak and can pinpoint exactly where the problem is. Saving Time and Money: This method is way cheaper and faster because you don’t need to be a trained expert to gather the data, and the AI does the hard work of figuring out where the leaks are. Plus, it’s all done automatically and can even run while you’re asleep!

Real-Life Example:

They tested this in a place in Indonesia where a ton of water was being lost because of leaks—like, up to 70% of the water was just disappearing. They trained local people to use the devices, and with the AI’s help, they found and fixed a bunch of leaks. This saved tons of water that would have otherwise been wasted.

Why It’s Cool:

The best part is that this system makes it possible for even places that don’t have a lot of money or trained experts to keep their water systems running smoothly. It’s like giving them a superpower to find and fix leaks without needing a big team of specialists. Plus, it’s all about using tech in a smart way to solve real-world problems!
