In the previous weeks, we focused on the PhD trajectory and the relationship between supervisor and student. This week, you will reflect on yourself and focus on who you are as a person and on your own (personal and professional) development.

What kind of role model are you to your PhD student(s), what role model would you like to be, and how does the context that you (have) work(ed) in (e.g. the research group, the organisation, the academic culture) affect you and your supervision style? Overall, this week contributes to the development of a reflective attitude in you as supervisor and the social context (team, organisation, society) in which this takes place.

This week will be guided by the use of a hand-out. On this hand-out, you can formulate your answers to all the exercises of this week, either by printing the hand-out and writing on it, or by typing in the document while answering the questions. In this way, you have all your personal insights and reflections in one place. This also means you do not have to share any of these insights in the discussion forums within this course, but you are welcome to share if you want. You can download the hand-out from the attachments to this step.
