This course was created primarily to serve as training for students applying for funding from the Elective Equipment Fund, which will be available for final year medical students at St George’s University, London from next year.

If you are a medical student at St George’s, you can find more information about the Elective Equipment Fund, and how to apply, by contacting elective.equipment.fund@gmail.com.

If you are a healthcare professional who is planning a donation of equipment to a low resource setting, you may wish to contact MedAid Edinburgh, a student-run charity that collects medical equipment from hospitals in the UK for distribution to low-resource settings. You can get more information via their website.

If you are a medical student in Australia, you may wish to contact MSAP, another student-run charity at the University of New South Wales. Their Elective Aid Programme provides monetary grants for the purchase of medical equipment to fifth-year students doing their elective in developing countries. More information is available here.

Do you know of any other sources of funding for the donation of medical equipment, either for medical students or other healthcare professionals?
