Introduction to Week 2

Introduction to week 2
5.6
Welcome to week two of Teaching Computing. To open this week, you’ll meet Tim Whitley from British Telecom, who talks about why computing is such an important part of the school curriculum. He gives us a historical insight into how computing has evolved, and talks about the workforce of the future. This week, we’ll get a chance to look inside some classrooms where computing is going on, and you’ll have a chance to reflect on the approaches to teaching and learning. You’ll meet Chris and his primary school class, and Jez with his secondary school pupils. We hope that you’ll find these lesson snippets and supporting material is useful in reflecting on your own teaching.

I’m really grateful to both of these teachers and their fantastic pupils for being willing to let a film crew into their schools.
