We hope you enjoyed this introductory week on climate change and learned a few things about the process.

We covered concepts related to global warming and its causes and how the energy, water and carbon cycles control the Earth’s climate. Furthermore, you learnt about the importance of a variety of essential climate variables (ECVs) that characterise the climate and how satellite observations are used to derive some of these ECVs.

Finally, by using Climate Analysis Toolbox (CATE) you were able to visualise and analyse some of these ECVs from the Open Data Portal of the Climate Change Initiative of the European Space Agency.

Now you should be in a good starting position to continue to the second week of this online course.
