Dealing with unethical behaviour

Once unethical behaviour has been identified it is essential that action is taken.

There are a variety of ways that unethical behaviour can be dealt with, depending on how serious the matter is, including:

  • re-design the process so the unethical behaviour cannot be repeated
  • staff action plan which includes additional supervision and checks
  • verbal or written warning
  • demotion or suspension
  • dismissal
  • criminal prosecution.
