Final remarks

Leading academic Dr Vanessa Yardley closes the course with some final remarks.

Over the past four weeks, we have covered many different aspects of visceral leishmaniasis and the control of the disease. We hope you’ve enjoyed the course and found it informative and useful.

We also hope that you now have some understanding of the complexities of VL control and what is involved in building, delivering, and sustaining a successful programme in diverse and often challenging settings, from access to treatment and suitable diagnostic tools, as well as issues surrounding vector control, health education and surveillance, amongst many other things.

If you have chosen to take the test in the next step (only available to those who upgrade), remember you can refer back to the Glossary of Terms in Step 1.1.

We wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavours. Goodbye.
