Live event - Facebook live

This week we held a Facebook Live broadcast event.

In the live broadcast the educators answered questions that were asked in the comments below and on the British Council’s LearnEnglish Facebook page.

As the educators mentioned, one of the most common questions was about how to answer the question ‘Tell me about yourself’. You can find some useful advice and examples here and here.

Sally mentioned our TeachingEnglish Business English resources, which can be used both by teachers as classroom resources, and by learners for self-study. You can also find advice on interviews for specific careers such as accountancy, banking, science, computing, journalism, retail, HR/personnel, teacher training, and postgraduate study in this great resource from the University of Kent.

If you are applying for jobs but don’t have much – or perhaps any – experience, then check the advice here and here. And finally, you can find advice on how to deal with questions about your salary expectations here.

If you have any questions, post them in the comments section below.
