About YCT Standard Course 2

The Youth Chinese Test (YCT) is an international standardized Chinese language proficiency test that evaluates the ability of primary and secondary school students whose Chinese is not their first language to use Chinese in their daily lives and studies. The YCT Standard Course 2 has been developed based on the analysis of the YCT Level 2 Test papers and the concept of “teaching and learning together”.

The YCT Standard Course 2 is suitable for primary and middle school students who have completed the YCT Standard Course 1 or have passed the YCT Level 1 Test. It is particularly designed for those who are going to take the YCT Level 2 Test. This course will help you brush up on your Chinese language skills and competence at a basic level.

Together with the YCT Standard Course 1, you will master about 150 vocabularies. And the YCT Standard Course 2 consists of eleven daily topics and one review session. By completing this course, you will understand and use some simple Chinese phrases and sentences and cope with basic-level communication. Moreover, you should be able to pass the YCT Level 2 Test.

YCT Standard Course 2: Part B

The YCT Standard Course 2: Part A should take at least six amount of weeks to complete. For the first five weeks, you will explore daily topics through colorful pictures, wonderful stories, catchy songs, interesting videos, practical quizzes, and mock tests. The sixth is for reviewing the entire YCT Standard Course 2, as well as an overall examination for you to be eligible to gain the course certificate.

This course will provide progressive activities to sharpen your Chinese language skills. It requires a strong determination to devote time to independent study, as well as peer discussion. Although the course educator will not be commenting on this course, you could interact with the peer learners and share resources.
