eGift cards Terms and Conditions (annual)

1. Our Agreement with You

1.1 Our making available this eGift Card will create a binding agreement between you and we that incorporates the Terms (this “Agreement”). This Agreement applies between you and FutureLearn Limited. Each issued Gift Card provides for a contractual right to you to validly pay us for certain courses that you wish to purchase on our website. The application at checkout of an eGift card for one year’s subscription to Unlimited will reduce the price of the first year of that subscription by 100% (as set out in the checkout page). We define the first year of an Unlimited annual subscription as being 365 days from the date upon which the subscription is purchased

1.2 The period within which the eGift Card can be redeemed is subject to the expiry date stated in the delivery email.

1.3 You will receive an e-mail with a unique code and instructions as to how to use the eGift Card. In order to use the eGift Card, you must set up an account and a subscription with us.

2. Cancellation of the subscription

2.1 This subscription will be automatically renewed annually unless you cancel before the annual payment renewal date. You can turn off the auto-renewal of the subscription by cancelling it from your account area.

2.2 You may cancel your subscription access to Unlimited via your account at any time before the end of your current subscription period subject to the cancellation and refund policy. Your cancellation shall take effect on the day after the last day of the subscription period.

3. Refunds

3.1 You may withdraw from your purchase of a Gift Card without any reason within 14 days of the date of issuance of the Gift Card provided you have not yet used it. If you would like to withdraw from your purchase please contact our Refunds Team. We will refund the amount of the Gift Card to the original payment method that you used during the ordering process for the Gift Card within 14 days of the cooling off period which begins on the day you purchase an eGift card, or within 14 days of the purchase date for a new Unlimited subscription to which an eGift card has been applied. 3.2 You have the right to use the eGift Card to purchase an Unlimited annual subscription. You can read about the benefits of Unlimited, and how it works in our help centre article here

3.3 eGift cards cannot be refunded once redeemed, even if you have only used it to participate in one course.

4. Relevant courses

4.1 Unlimited subscriptions include access to the stand-alone short courses in the Unlimited catalogue, which offer a Certificate of Achievement.

4.2 You cannot use the eGift Card to purchase or access Microcredentials, ExpertTrack courses, program assessments, degrees or any courses which offer a Statement of Participation.

5. Expiry date

5.1 This Agreement will start on the date of your eGift Card. The expiry date for each eGift card will be stated on your delivery email. Our Agreement will end upon the expiry date.

6. Use and application of the gift card

6.1 eGift cards cannot be applied to the purchase of subscription renewal for existing Unlimited subscriptions, Microcredential, ExpertTracks subscriptions, Premium course purchases, or any other credit bearing courses.

6.2 Each eGift card can only be redeemed once and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer.

8. Our cancellation and revocation rights

8.1 If you violate the terms of this Agreement or if we have reasonable grounds to suspect that your eGift Card was purchased or used fraudulently or in a manner that we may reasonably believe is unlawful or fraudulent, misleading, deceptive, unfair or otherwise harmful to us or our clients and students, we may revoke your eGift Card or refuse a transaction whereby it was used.

8.2 FutureLearn reserves the right to cancel and/or to refuse access to its products if used in contravention of the terms upon which the products are offered: terms and conditions.

9. Our Liability

9.1 We will not be liable to you for any loss arising from any unauthorised transaction where you acted fraudulently, in direct violation of criminal law or where you wilfully failed to use your eGift Card in accordance with this Agreement.

11. Disputes

11.1 This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales and each party submits to the courts of England of Wales which have exclusive jurisdiction in the case of any disputes.

11.2 You can access the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at http://ec.europa.eu/odr. Please note that we do not currently participate in an online dispute resolution process before any dispute resolution body.
