How did globalisation evolve?

Globalisation has always existed in one form or another. Throughout history, people have spread ideologies, shared cultural knowledge, and engaged in trade. As technologies advanced, particularly swiftly after the advent of the internet, so too did the activities that promote globalisation. In terms of economic globalisation’s evolution, the near-universal adoption of capitalism and the rise of free trade systems are defining factors.
