About

The Global Travel & Tourism Partnership (GTTP) is an industry-supported program to foster future talent and help young people develop skills they need for future careers in the Travel & Tourism industry. The GTTP’s goal is to raise awareness of the industry as a good place to grow a career, whether learners are interested in technology, operations, marketing or starting a travel-related business.

GTTP provides relevant curricula about the industry and also about some of the important career skills needed. These include, for example, critical thinking, cultural sensitivity, the ability to work in teams, and knowing how to communicate clearly and effectively. Courses are built around experiential learning-by-doing, so students study online and in and out of the classroom. Topics include understanding the many aspects of this global industry.

A particular focus of GTTP is training teachers so they can teach its courses. GTTP works with education and tourism ministries, and its programs are approved for use in public secondary and tertiary schools in Brazil, Canada, China, France, Hong Kong SAR, Hungary, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Philippines, Russia, South Africa, Tanzania and the United Kingdom.

Some 700,000 learners currently participate in GTTP programs. There are fourteen national directors who oversee the operations in their particular program, serve as the liaison between education and industry, and work with fellow national directors and corporate sponsors to develop courses and content. GTTP is supported by global companies and over 1200 national and local businesses. For more information go to www.gttp.org
