one of my greatest managers was a boss I had some years ago when I was in car sales. He appeared to be very strict and authoritarian but was actually very supportive, extremely empathetic and very considerate of his team. I don't have all the answers and certainly don't pretend to. I love working with my team to find solutions.
I recall a previous role as a sales manager where some in the company expected you to be a better salesperson than your best salesperson and I thought that was plain ridiculous.

I have a good understanding of the individuals but not yet how they interact together as a team or with individuals within the team. I will be hiring a new employee to join the team shortly and recognise that work will be needed in forming this new team.

As humans we are psychologically ingrained to seek out people, and groups, who are similar and avoid differences. I love the piece around self-awareness because without this then inclusivity is simply an exercise of going through the motions or even, inadvertently, excluding others...

Whilst the opinions here are, obviously, subjective it is an interesting link towards the perceptions of one's self and the perceptions of others might vary dramatically.
