  • Thanks for your honesty @SadaqatHussian and do you have any thoughts of how you might wish to develop your time management skills? Are you using a diary system on your phone maybe?
What suggestions do other learners have of how Sadaqat could help improve their time management skills?

  • Absolutely @SadaqatHussian they are certainly transferable to a variety of roles and employers will be very interested in your applications if you can show evidence of how you have developed these skills too.

  • Great observations @VictoriaMyronova thansk for sharing and I agree that the letter allows you to really show your interest in and suitability for the role and the organisation.

  • The good thing about your CV @VictoriaMyronova is that it is never static and you can adjust it at any time if you think it can work better for you in a different format. Good luck producing yours and I hope it works well for you.

  • And I love that you remember to smile too @Hung-WeiYeh !

  • Thanks @SadaqatHussian we certainly are friendly! We hope you find the course really helpful for your career planning.

  • That's great to hear, really glad you found them useful @DariaPerlovska

  • Did you manage to have a go at any of the tests on the link above @DariaPerlovska ? What did you think?
I can recommend clicking the link as when you click on 'All tests' on the top bar then you can try a range of tests. They also provide the answers so you can see where you might have gone wrong. And, like this course, it is all for free - what's not to like...

  • Great tips on questions to ask during the interview @DariaPerlovska especially about showing your interest in the company. Thanks for sharing.
Maybe you can bring in your company research into these (as you indicated above) as questions like this can work well: 'I read in the news about your new projects developing 'x'..... are these the sorts of things that...

  • That's lovely feedback @AntonyRohanSunil thank you.
We would love to know what specific skills you feel you might gain from your MSc in data analytics that will assist you in your future career (other than the technical data analytics skills.)

  • That's brilliant advice @DariaPerlovska thank you for sharing such detailed responses as you work through. I love how we can all learn so much from each other on this type of course!

  • Thanks for sharing these other examples and I am sure that with your thorough preparation you will find other types of interview less challenging than you think @DariaPerlovska

  • Thanks for sharing your wants/ needs list @АнастасіяЗахаренко
Your priorities sound similar to others who are keen to find fulfilling work that 'makes a difference' and which allows you to have a good work life balance.

  • That is a great goal @АнастасіяЗахаренко as supporting others to learn and develop can be so very rewarding.
You might find Step 1.10 useful @АнастасіяЗахаренко as we will look at job profiles in more detail and there are a number of education related roles that might be of interest to you.

  • Thanks for sharing your skills and explaining how valuable teamwork can be @АнастасіяЗахаренко What type of roles do you think you are most attracted to? You mention teaching in this step https://www.futurelearn.com/comments/71969339 - are there specific roles / age groups you are most interested in?
We will look more at skills required for the future in week...

  • And a warm welcome to the course @АнастасіяЗахаренко We have others here from Ukraine also working on their career plans. We hope you will enjoy the course and find it as useful as others are.

  • @Hung-WeiYeh When faced with tricky situations I sometimes ask myself ' What's the worst thing that can happen...?' and it never does! This has certainly helped me to increase my confidence.
Keep up the great work as we are sure you will become more confident in time.

  • @SouadEtmimi Thanks for sharing your good examples of networking at conferences. Hopefully you can keep in touch with these network contacts, maybe via LinkedIn connections and messaging?

  • @WalaaElmezain Great! Do let us know how you get on if you have time.

  • @KazeemOlanrewaju great examples and these will be so useful in your applications for a variety of roles.

  • You make great points there @SouadEtmimi Our network can also help us to stay informed of current issues or trends in our career areas. Do you have any examples to share of where your network has been of benefit to you?

  • That sounds like a good plan @SouadEtmimi Don't forget to add your photo (plus maybe a suitable image in the banner) as well as to utilise keywords in the 'About' section wisely. There are some great free courses about how to use LinkedIn to its full and we link to one and discuss this more in week 2 here:...

  • I love your positive words and caring approach @SouadEtmimi especially about their 'creative power'.

  • And thank you for getting involved in the comments too @KazeemOlanrewaju as we have enjoyed your significant contributions. • @Hung-WeiYeh Thanks! we will be looking at STAR in Step 2.15 as part of the top tips for interviews so keep on working through https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/study-uk-preparing-for-work/8/steps/1683911

  • @DariaPerlovska Great work as it sounds like you have all bases covered with your approach. Thanks for sharing those websites as they look very useful for other learners.

  • Thanks for sharing your thoughts as always @DariaPerlovska You are spot on with your CV and covering letter thoughts and you show real insight into the Ukrainian typical job search process. However, I wonder if for translator roles networking might be an even more powerful way to get into this line of work? Do the jobs boards and websites provide the best...

  • Good question @KazeemOlanrewaju and a phone call can indeed be really helpful and some employers do offer this. However, other employers might wish to avoid any verbal confrontation and may be reluctant to give any useful constructive comments over the phone. What do others think?

  • It sounds as though you have done some helpful research there @DariaPerlovska and your skills seem to be in demand. Do you think this is something you might consider?

I wonder - what do others think?

  • Good point about height and weight as for the vast majority of roles these are irrelevant @TetyanaBubnenkova
I think hobbies might be a little different as some people find their hobbies can be a helpful addition to a CV. They work well where they can provide evidence of how a person has developed their skills for example playing an instrument in a band can...
