  • “You won’t want to stay around because you want to be real nurses”. Real NURSE? This is not fair. How important is it to be in the life of someone the family don't want to or cannot be with because of the stage he/she is in life.
What we do in care homes does not prevent the person from dying but it prolongs their life, residents age 85 and above can live up...

  • Screening must be encouraged and practice.

  • Only CLINICAL and Administration, this is a whole lot, unlike hospitals where there is a manager for each role such Human resource, administration, Nutrition and so on.
Care home managers deserve greater respect and acknowledgement.

  • People can keep active and engaged in care homes if only we educate the people the services or the activities that goes on in care homes before they are been admitted to the homes.
Ignorance about care home activities is what has led to the people's perception about care Homes. For example the general public perceive nurses in Hospitals and emergency setting...

  • My past life and routine activities, my work, the type friends and relationships.

  • This is great let's keep it up, improve upon it until we achieve less than 10% fewer hospital admissions.

  • Since most of the care home residents needs one or two medications, nurses need to apply their pharmacological knowledge and skills. Identify the drug, indications, interactions, adverse reactions, side effects, because some of the medications causing relief also affect some of the organs negatively.

  • Thank you, it was so great.

  • I have no experience on choosing a care home yet.
But to choose a care I will consider inspection reports because that will prove the home is REGISTERED and regulated by responsible officials, also testimonies from family and friends, the distance from home, quality of care and cost involve.

  • I read two reports which include Bellavista and Nazareth care home, with this two reports NURSING performance were highly rated which is a good indication for the profession.

  • The clients that find themselves in care homes deserve quality care and better conditions. Every action plan and activities including the care homes setting, the care team, leadership and the environment must be well documented and publish for easy accessibility.
