  • Week 1 was so good. I loved the content, the educators and the simplicity of the way we were taught. Learnt a lot about the art of storytelling. Looking forward to what's coming ahead.

  • As mentioned earlier by our educators, even if it is a multi-narrative story, there must be elements that bound these storylines together. A commonplace, a common theme, a similarity in the class of our multi protagonists or a common goal but achieved in a different way. I would summarise the film Masan ( a multi-narrative film ) in the following manner....

  • I saw this film like 2 days ago after understanding the 3 Act Structure and as the film progresses, oh my I was clearly able to jot down the 3 Acts in the film. Blade Runner 2049, had its first act where we see the character in action, killing Old nexus slaves and during this journey, we understand what and who our character is. Goes into the 2nd Act with...

  • @JonathanPitches Thank you so much for taking your time and reviewing my exercise. I agree I need to work more on movements. Though I was wondering about the speed of the movement itself. Do the speed and the approach to perform the etude depend upon the emotion and intention of the scenario or it's formalised as it's shown in the course?

  • When you write a Cinematic story, a lot of factors must be considered. I agree that it's not a novel and the story followed by the script should be written considering the dramatic action the character will have and how feasible it is to execute it. Great Films are made because of the amazing screenwriting. More detailed the writing, the better it is for the...

  • Putting things into perspective..

  • Here is the video file of my the etudes I performed: https://we.tl/t-rm8vpEBT9b

This exercise was a great learning experience :)

Hello :) I am an Acting student but a passion for understanding the process of film making. New to the world of screenwriting and looking forward to learning as much as I can!

  • Reflecting on the study itself, it gives me a sense of understanding that Biomechanics was inspired by the revolution. The physicality of an actor, his/her craft plays an important role, more based on realism; Looking at the etudes, I can say Biomechanics is more like a dance where actors involved need to be constantly present at the moment, work on balancing...

  • All the etudes somehow remind me of the several moments inspired by history and revolutions that took place during his era. All of them are indirectly related to violence, physical violence; These etudes are based on the physicality of the act itself and lack the phycological aspect to it. ( except the funeral) For eg: throwing a stone remind me of a child...

  • I partially disagree with the proposition of Meyerhold that Naturalism nullifies imagination. It is completely wrong to say that an actor's potential is underused in Naturalistic theatre. On the contrary, it's the opposite. Naturalism lets an actor belong to the story with the approach to give justice to the character and perform better. An actor has to work...

  • @JessH Great insight! Thank you.
