  • Social media has great advantages in this digital world. It has made people of the world closer to each other than before. Yet, one cannot sustitude it for the institutionalized forms of international cultural relations. This is because, on social media you will be made to see only what they want to see, not what you need to see. You will be made to know what...

  • Nigerian society has experienced some disastrous events like flood, fire outbreak and building collapse. But the most disastrous one the has great negative impact on lives of the citizenry are Bokoharam insurgency, kidnapping and banditary.

  • The following is one of the definitions of disaster by a responsible agency in Nigeria: Disaster is an event, natural or man-made, sudden or progressive, which impacts with such severity that the affected community or individual has to respond by taking exceptional meastures.

  • To me disaster is an upsurge of any catastrophic event that put the society into a state of anarchy. In other words, any uncontrollable incident. In Nigeria for instance, Bokoharam insurgency, banditary and kidnapping are disaster.

  • Dialogue is a give and take afair between two or more religious groups.

  • Hello everyone! This is Mahmud Murtada Ajibowo, from Nigeria.

  • Je m'appelle Mahmud Murtada Ajibowo. Je suis Nigérian.

  • Thanks. But I never sound like someone who see freedom as a bad thing. I am only saying that freedom has to be checked whenever it is going beyond boundary of limitation.

  • The course is soo instructive, illuminating and educative. Thank you.

  • If people's happiness is not parts of social welfair which the government is meant to provide and protect, then it need not to concern itself with it.

  • Respect and justice are reciprocals. Respect beget Respect. Justice beget Justice. If you like to take be ready to give. That is justice indeed.

  • First and foremost, I will like to say that a freedom without limitations is like a viechle without break. It is, no doubt, going to perdition.
Secondly, concerning freedom in Islam, there are many verses of the Quran that talk about freedom for everyone. For example: " there is no compulsion in religion"(2:256), "yours is your religion and mine is...

  • My name is Mahmud Murtada Ajibowo from Nigeria. I love to take part in this course because it has a lot to do with human interactions; political life of man. How people use propaganda to achieve their political interests.

  • I think in a course like this, that has to do with religion as a key actor in conflict and peacebuilding, religion leaders like Pastors, Imams, Monks and so should be interviewed. They can be resource persons. We can get direct information from them about their religious believes.

  • So far, if through functional approach we want define religion it will be differently by different people base on how they see or interprite its function in their environments.
But from substantive approach; that is from the correct perception of what religion is or should be it has a definite meaning. It cannot be turned around freely by anyone.
    Another...

  • Whether religious leaders will be involved in peacebuilding or be active participants depends on the nature of the conflict. In a conflict that has religious inclination religious leaders cannot be left behind.
Even in a tribal conflict, like the Berum and the Hausa-Fulani in Plateau state Nigeria, religious leaders (e.g. NSCIA and CAN) still have their roles...

  • If we look at it from substantive approach, we will realize that religion is not to blame for these attrocities. Rather, it is either misinterpretation, power tussle, struggling for political power, economic benefits and so that triggered the conflict. But it was given religious colouration to get more patronage.

  • If we truly intend to do justice to the topic; religion, we need to first look at it from substantive approach. The essence of the religion itself, the foundamental principles which it stand for, from its scripture/ primary source(s) should be looked at. While doing this, we should try to avoid misinterpretation and confirmation bias.
    By doing this, we...

  • Religion, as far as Islam is concerned, is part of human nature. Even those who do not believe in religion or organized religion are also religious. Because, generally speaking, being religious is a way of life, likewise 'not being religious' .

  • In an environment where there is mutual respect there will be peaceful coexistence and no mutual suspicion.

  • My name is Mahmud murtada Ajibowo from Nigeria. I am an Imam and a teacher of Arabic and Islamic studies. I like to take this course because religion is one of the fondamental issues in conflict management, resolution and transportation. Thank you.

  • Very interesting!

  • ...I will travel slowly and I too will arrive.

  • To me, it seems reasoning heuristic is similar to stereotyping. I stand to be corrected.

  • Confirmation bias is one of those factors that make science different from pseudo-science.

  • Please, I need someone to give me the definition of Philosophy and logic.

  • I think critical thinking is if one those things that make man different from animal; that make him rational being.

  • Hello! I am Mahmud Murtada Ajibow from Nigeria. I have learned a number of courses in Future learn. I hope this too will be fascinating.

  • The sky was groaning to pour heavy rain during the rush hour. On the street was a woman called Hilary who covered herself lavishly by a voluminous coat.

  • I also have a lot to learn from others' comments here.

  • I seek refuge in God from its evils just like I do seek refuge from devil. I usually ran fearfully from its sting the way I run from a snake bite. Whenever I saw it coming from the same route I am threading I take another route.
Do you know it? It is the tongue of the pessimist.

  • Interesting!

  • First and foremost, one need to have mastery of the subject.
    Two, to know the pupils/students.
Lastly, to have control over the use of words to the best of his /her ability.

  • EMI is helpful because it allow students to express their Learning experiences anywhere, and also have self- confidence.

  • Hello! I am Mahmud Murtada Ajibowo from Nigeria. I am a new learner in this group.

  • The Action research, it is initially unknown to me. But now , I understand what it means.

  • This open new page of learning to me. Thanks.

  • Critical approach must be given more attention.

  • As far as my local area is concerned, more need to be done in terms of data literacy.

  • The sources cited are really beneficial for further research.

  • The margin is not so much.

  • Very informative and fascinating piece. Thank you so much.

  • Very interesting. I was exposed to new learning experience; Action Research.

  • Involving children in research can be done in a setting where the children are from privileged homes. In other words, the home has a lot to do in getting children that are fit for this method.

  • I think it is the learning environment and the individual differences that will detamine whether action research or evaluation is needed.

  • Being in the classroom must not stop the teachers from researching into the attitudes of the learners and the learning environment.

  • Teacher should also be a researcher in order to be an up-to-date educator.

  • Hello! I am Mahmud Murtada Ajibowo from Nigeria. I am a secondary school teacher. I like to enhance my learning experience on education. And I think this course will of great advantage to get more learning experience.

  • Generally speaking, I found this course so fascinating and obstructive. It removed what seems to be mysterious about adolescence and adolescents' developmental domains.

  • No doubt, the future start today. Having a good adulthood start from having a good adolescence.

  • Very educative.

  • Both PYD and emotional literacy have one thing in common, and that is Competence. But they diver in terms of result. While PYD is talking about making positive contribution to the society Emotional literacy is talking about controlling our emotions.

  • These five C's will alleviate the notion of seeing adolescence stage just a period of stress and storm. Rather, it is also a time of opportunity and growth.

  • Can we now say that if the girls have larger hippocampus than the boys and as a result of that can take more sensorial and emotive information than boys, then it means boys can take more rational or logical information than the girls?

  • Self-efficacy is a very important tool in the life of an adolescent in order to be a successful person in his or her adulthood stage.

  • Hello! My name is Mahmud Murtada Ajibowo from Nigeria. I just joined the course.

  • Thank you... really enjoy the course. I hope to join you soon.

  • I like how the course was planned; step by step approach. It explained in a concise way the four developmental domains of adolescents.
I wonder how it opened to me new area of learning about adolescence.
I would like to know more about adolescents in the next week.
