@DeborahHarding , yo recomiendo, además de lo que ha dicho Owen, "graded readings in Spanish", level A1. Puedes escuchar y leer al mismo tiempo. Recomiendo también leer en voz alta y practicar la conversación mucho.

Spanish sentences have full stops. When writing in speech bubbles and comics, they tend to be omitted, because it´s clear when the sentence finishes. But in written Spanish, full stops are as necessary as in any other language.

Hola @AliceM , as to the use of usted (you formal) and ustedes (you all formal) we are covering it in the micro-credential course.
In Spain, they are used to address authorities, managers at work and people we are not close to and are older than us. Most of the time, people use "tú" and "vosotros / vosotras".
