Activity

  • Even though programming is giving me hell but I shall understand it latter.

  • I am really finding it difficult to understand coding.

  • I want to learn python as a career programmer because I have passion for Computer Science and python is one of the Languages that is used for coding, so as an emerging computer scientist, it's prudent that I have basic understanding on python so I can become a better programmer.

  • facebook.com
Facebook is one of the many website that use python. Python helps in maintaining and managing the infrastructure of Facebook.

  • My name is O'Hara Teah and I am a student of Computer Science.

  • I am getting the concept gradually.

  • I shall expand more as we make progress.

  • Hello my professional Colleagues from diverse background. It's an honor being a part of this course. I am a student at the University of the People studying Computer Science and I also Study Agriculture engineering at the Yesbud University. I am a political activist and I work at the House of Representatives as a political Officer in the offices of Hon. Abu...

I have learned the distinction between a leader and a manager.

  • Perception aren't reality. Leaders should not allow perception to overshadow their Leadership ability.

  • Treating people fairly and equitably (equally) is necessary and it motivates people to work harder.
Fairly: We all do a specific job so everyone should be appreciated. Equally or Equitably: we all did a work and those who made more contribution should be appreciated more...

  • I am seen as a leader who sees the least person as asset to the institution.

  • It's impossible for all of them to like Greg but they were saying the truth in different ways.

  • Openess is essential. It's makes a Leader succeed.

  • Why if we do it this way? Consultation.

  • Following closely

  • Consultation and collaboration is what I have used over time..

  • I haven't use my personal power this week. I am the Political Officer at the House of Representatives, Republic of Liberia. I have personal power but it's used strategically and effectively to Foster the aganda of my office.

  • I am a better leader than a manager but I have some managerial characteristics.

  • Nice course..

  • LEADERSHIP is beyond being a boss. It's about growing others..

  • Great!!

  • Working with people with the same mindset..

  • My Choice of Leader is Vandalark R. Patrick. I see my self through him.

  • Vandalark R. Patrick is my role model. He's a motivational Leader and an advocate who stood against the tyrannical and corrupt of Liberia first female president, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
Patrick was beaten and injected by the NSA yet he didn't abandon his quest to see a Country where corruption, Nepotism and bad governance can be minimized.

    Mr. Patrick...

  • Jack manages Billions and thousands of workers. His ability to do that is Leadership.

  • Vandalark R. Patrick is an effective Leader who possesses a high moral values. He's innovative and straight forward. He's envisages a merit base society and he doesn't compromise principles that has the tendency to grow an institution.

Shadrach Kolo Saywon: Reverend Saywon is a upright man who believes in humanity and volunteerism.

  • Leadership is the ability to take on responsible and be decisive in decision Making.

  • Getting involve is important and it helps us build a good networking system with our fellow Learners.

  • Leadership is important to me because it's an engine of every organization in society. This course will find futhur expand my thoughts on leadership.

    The various link are helpful...

  • This course is very important and I have learn a lot about EMI.

  • Talking to the student and sharing experience is the best option to limit their expectations.

  • If such saturation happen in my class, I will teach the student about diversity and inclusion.

  • I have been stereotype on many occasions, and I felt with the issues responsibly.

  • Following...

  • Classroom guidelines it good but should be done interactively.

  • Interesting piece .

  • The above ideas are good.

  • If someone tries to monopolize a discussion, there are ways to interrupt them, and it can be done by giving them a concluding time but in a honorable way.

  • Like I always said, English is the mother's Language in my country so it's not difficult. Could you is polite, but my my setting, teacher are more respected than student's parents. Sometimes when students misbehave at home, their parents take them to their teachers on campus to discipline them so using could you is my setting is normal but not wise.

  • Good

  • I am following.

  • Major issue that stops student from participating in classes is, not appreciating their little contribution made to a topic. Students to be more interactive when we make the classes open by giving group assignment.

  • I am glad to be part of this course.

  • This week was very educative.

  • Firstly, the students should know that English is not his first Language so their expectations can be managed, and thereafter, improve your English.

  • If such saturation is in my class, I will do a survey to know the students who are facing difficulties and reach out to them.

  • To manage a large class not that easy but not difficult as well. I am from a setting where classes have about 150/200 students each in public schools and some of the methods to give a group discussion, Assignment/ project.

  • Following, and making more research to better understand..

  • The below slides in the link were chosen because of its uniqueness in ter ms of color, and presenting such slides will create an environment for everyone to understand especially those with Color blindnesses.

  • Marry couldn't have said it better.

  • Body Language is use by majority of the population in my surrounding. It's traditional that people use body language while communicating. The gestures, eyes' contact are something's that are regularly use by people who are educated or uneducated. Sometimes, people use body languages to communicate with out a verbal communication.

  • Body Language and Eye contact are significant in teaching because its creates an environment for the students to be eager to listen and learn. Even if they were distracted, an eye contact has the proclivity to put them on track. Your body language also create an awareness that indeed an instructor is in class. Without these attributes, the classes become boring.

  • I hope to learn new things relative to EMI.

  • Thanks for the commendation.

  • Partly in agreement but as a teacher, the students perception is that you should be bettered than them academically, so if English is not an instructor first language, it's advisable that he/she takes an English course to avoid future embarrassment.

  • If any of my colleagues fall in a saturation of such, I will advise that they make more research and improve their English to avoid similar Situation in the future.

  • For the I have attended in my Country, we only teach in English; however, there are many students from Guinea and Ivory cost who speak French, and they are respected for that and sometimes offer a Job to teach High School French base on their qualifications.

  • Responsible use of nature resources and education are Paramount. When resources are responsibly used, it creates equity and wonton economy growth. Education is also important and should be considered as a Human Rights, and if a government lacks the ability to provide quality education for her Citizens, such government should be considered as violating Human...

  • Interesting...

  • I am interested in this course because my County in Liberia is very rich with nature resources and the mining companies that are operating there are creating serious health hazard in the area so I am studying courses that will expand my horizon in nature resources.

  • Pronunciation is important especially when you are teaching a student whose English is not their first language.

  • I agree with the ideas expressed especially the distinction between Native Speaker English, and Native Speaker of English.

  • The tip given by Rob is very insightful. Many students here in my Country complain on some teachers from India at the Blue Crest University. There pronunciation doesn't suit the listening ear our the Liberian's students whose first language is English.

  • Communication in speech is different from communication in writing. Some people are good are communicating through speeches while other are better writers than speaker.

  • In public speaking, the tone matters a lot. Speaking very slow and monotonous can be boring to the audience no matter how inspiring the messages are.

  • The video was great, and the the speak was very articulate.

  • I think and I feel have distinction. I think can be use in a critical argument or to express a logical opinion, while I feel doesn't express an opinion. It's a feeling, Sense or emotion.

  • This week was great and educative. It's an honor being part of this course.

  • EMI classes will work effectively because not all of the students speak English as their native Language.

  • We don't speak the scientific terminology while is a professional setting or discussion oftentimes.

  • Rob points are on course..

  • If my student speaks better English than me, I will have no option but to make more research.

  • English as an international language can be spoken in all professional environments. Most importantly, in an academic setting, I will like my student to speak standard English.

  • Students should use standard English in an academic environment.. Native English spoken when a student is in a learning curve...

  • Following and in confirmative.

  • My priority is to speak a standard English that will distinguish me from others in my environment where everyone speaks English as a native Language.

  • English Language is a medium through which people communicate in the international world. Even in the Academic and business environment.

  • O'Hara Teah made a comment

English is my native language. From the beginning of my academic life, the only Language I can understand I understand is English.

  • O'Hara Teah made a comment

English is the Language that 99.9 % of the people in my setting speak and understand. It's the language that I understand in an academic environment, so it's important that I take this course very seriously.

  • I have joined this course because I want to advance my understanding on English.

  • Even through English is my native Language, but I am glad to advance myself with a better English course.

  • I will like to talk on the open budget initiative that was introduced by Minister Amara Conneh during the regime of president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. The open budget initiative allowed the Citizen to know exactly what is in the Budget and to know if there is a surplus or shortfall in the Budget.

  • Hello to all.. I am O'Hara Teah from Liberia. In my Country, Public Policy should focus on health and commence. We don't have a good policy on what kind of food that comes in our Country. Today, people are dying because of what we eat.

  • I have completed the course. How can I get the certificate? Pls email me at oharateah2017@gmail.com

  • I am about to do an intense research.

  • My mentality has change greatly with a better definition.

  • I have enjoyed studying the course.

  • The greatest challenges of AI is consciousness....

  • Today’s artificial intelligence market is not easy to quantify. Besides the lack of consensus on a coherent definition for “artificial intelligence” as a term, the field’s nascent stage of development makes it difficult to carve out silos or hard barriers of where one industry or application ends, and another begins.
