  • Finding ways to relax outside of work. Communicating with friends and family and talking when feeling down or stressed.

  • Being a good listener and being empathetic is really important.

I have found it helpful to think more about the most vulnerable groups and how I might approach those individuals.

  • Taking time to notice any changes in behaviour for example. All contact I have is digitally so making time for individual meetings and check-ins with individuals.

  • Not to assume anything or make rash decisions. Always treat people with respect and dignity.

  • Be informed about COVID and have good listening skills, empathy and being non judgemental.

    Really interesting so far

  • In these unusual circumstances people are out of their usual routines and many have been isolated from friends and family, which will only exasperate signs and symptoms. They also may not pick up on the signs themselves and getting any help has been more challenging.

  • I think for young children there is no need for them to use it.

  • I loved this picture when I was a child, I haven't seen it for a long time!
Tag, piggyback fighting, leapfrog, row row your boat, handstands, playing with hoops.

  • I found the regional, national and international element of games interesting especially of chasing games. Also the mention of street play and how it is now playground play which isn't as free as street play was.

  • Play is a fundamental activity where children interact and explore the world in which they live.

  • I found this a really useful exercise and am excited to try it out in a lesson! I haven't had any feedback yet, but it was interesting reading others.

  • Blendspace looks like a fab resource, thanks for sharing.

  • As a trainee teacher I don't have much experience to draw on at this stage, however, I like the look of Mahara and the fact that you can use it with your CV. I also like the idea of digital feedback!

  • I always like holistic or interdisciplinary approaches to things. When I think of the mind, I guess I think of the brain.

  • I'm Lucy from the UK, starting a bit late! I studied psychology at university and am training to be a teacher. Anything related to psychology intrigues me, I also have had a break since I studied psychology and thoughts courses like this would help get me back into it!

  • Technology is undoubtedly as natural as breathing for children today. I think the reason why technology is so compelling and motivating is because patience isn't something that comes naturally to us and children are no different! Why wait for things when you can have it now?

I think that the changes are fairly superficial. For example, did families really...

  • I can see the for and against arguments! As a mum of 5 I often associate technology with conflict because I find it's so addictive. It's hard to believe that something so addictive is beneficial? Obviously I'm referring to gaming!
In an educational setting I'm sure there is room for technology, but does it give children a better educational experience? Don't...
