  • I noticed that the facilitator sitting in the same circle with participants and I believe that's good way to enhance the discussion , she is within the team and no reflection of power on them

    examples of mistakes :
    the way she sit is very disrespectful
    the way she act reflects carelessness about what she is doing
    phone messaging
    no eye contact what so ever
    not explaining to him what she is doing or if he can leave, continue, stop or any thing

  • That is an ideal one that every one should follow , she has great eye contact , very clear explanations and assuring the comfort of the participants many time s

  • Should researchers allow an ongoing relationship with participants?
    no, because there might be demands which they cannot fulfill, they might end up with emotional distress, and the participants will have expectation that might not be fulfilled . this also might result in undue power effect to the participants

  • What are practical strategies for a researcher to avoid emotional fatigue and deep involvements with participants specially those with sad life events such as refugees ?

  • I also strongly believe in practice and practice for the interviewer as well on the strategies for before, during and after the interview

  • I will go with gatekeeper approach who might be familiar with whom to be included in the study and guide the researcher to know the participants . however they might be protective to some participants and don't include them or vise versa by practicing some pressure on them to participate

  • The sampling process will be purposeful sampling for care givers (parents) of children with cancer in Syrian camps in North Jordan , limitation might be bias in findings due to selection by researcher , sampling might be affected by researcher judgment .That will lead to lost other possible participants perspectives

  • Indeed , refugees with mental illness are vulnerable no doubt . I believe research is our way to gain knowledge and benefit the human beings . consequently , we can include them in research with a very vigilant ethical approach to assure the principles of ethical research conduct .

  • In my opinion , a hybrid methodology from both approaches might be beneficial because in trauma focused support investigating the individual responses to war, conflict, loss ...etc specially with previous history of mental problems and its needed promptly after the trauma happen . in contrary psychosocial approach support planning and implementing culturally...
