  • Hello fellow learners, I am exploring the world of online learning as a potential business. I have a business education teaching background with a career spanning 40 years.
I am keen to learn and share learning with others around the world. I currently live in Scotland.

  • I am hoping to gain insight into leadership from a different perspective and a source I have never heard of in my 50-plus-year career in UK.

  • An interesting introduction.

  • Hello, My name is Will and I live in the West of Scotland. I have joined this course as I am curious about the potential learning and how I could put it to good use in the next stage of my career.

  • Thanks for sharing your experience. I can relate to the tick-box approach. The move towards deeper engagement with clients has provided greater meaning and value.

  • Having a Personal development plan that is framed by the five pillars: Emotional well-being, Inner Drive, Future Focus, Relationships
Physical Health has helped me to work on my resilience.

  • For me this means recognition of communities and potential connections so as to build a supportive framework where there is mutual trust, understanding and integrity.

  • I recognise that managing changing routines and habits is a real challenge for some of us.

  • I feel that there are techniques and habits that can be learned to help us manage and cope with turbulent times and change. Relaxation and breathing exercises are what I am building into my daily routine.

  • It is interesting to reflect and it appears that I go very much on my inner instinct but I am not sure why?

  • Becoming ‘more generative’ for me means developing a repertoire of resilience strategies/techniques that can be drawn upon in times of future need.

  • I am interested in finding ways and means of increasing one's capacity to recover and achieve a more consistent positive mindset.

  • It seems that resilience has something to do with the ability to cope with pressure events and stress. The focus is on coping skills and the characteristics that help someone weather life's storms.
They identify different types of resilience including Mental, Physical, Social, and emotional.

  • This reflection activity is challenging as there are a number of professional and personal challenges I have faced in the last 3 years. The situations related to the loss of status/job and loss of loved ones. In the case of status and loss of job I was able to shift my thinking low mood and despondency by engaging in creative activities and things I enjoyed...

  • The ideas outlined by Marcus in the video resonate with me given the turbulent and fast-changing times we live in. Without involvement the potential to learn and grow is limited. The barriers I may encounter are motivation and personal context given the recent loss of my wife.
I am working on ways to overcome the barriers/ resistant to change.

  • For me, resilience is about being able to see ande move forward following some setbacks minor/major. It is about having a mindset like Robert The Bruce and looking at ways to manage and overcome obstacles and life challenges.

  • I think it is important to have a blended approach with plenty of opportunities for learners to practice in both formats.
